In June 2018, the Mediterráneo Bay Hotel & Resort opened its doors after a full refurbishment to celebrate its 25th anniversary. This cornerstone of the Almería hotel industry is located in a peaceful area on the seafront in Roquetas de Mar. Cosentino became a trusted partner in this refurbishment process. Its presence can be felt throughout every inch of the common spaces and rooms in the hotel, with materials from its Dekton, Silestone and Natural Stone brands.

The beaches of the South Atlantic still boast lush areas of virtually unspoilt nature, even in towns where the economic boom has driven rapid growth, such as Itapema in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.

Itapema’s urban planning strategy is focused on respecting the region’s environment by limiting the height of buildings and promoting sustainable construction. Based on these concepts, the Infinity Club Residence is a luxury apartment building that combines neoclassical interior design with open spaces in which the light and textures of Cosentino’s surfaces play a leading role.

Motel L is located in Älvsjö, Sweden, in a strategic location close to Stockholm International Fairs and Congress Centre building. Since its opening in 2014, this motel has been welcoming a large number of guests most of the year round. The developer of this building project, Botrygg AB, realised that the hotel would need the most durable materials to cope with the daily grind of both the common areas and one of the key elements of any room – the bathrooms.

Silestone was the architectural solution chosen for the washbasins in all bathrooms at the Botrygg AB hotel, as it met the main requirement: easy maintenance thanks to its high resistance to scratching and minimal joints, which makes the material extremely durable – Cosentino provides a 25-year warranty for Silestone – and visually appealing.

Eye Interior architecture studio had a clear idea from the start. When the restoration of the 140 bathrooms at the First Reisen hotel in Stockholm was initially considered, they knew that Silestone was the perfect solution. They needed a low-absorption, scratch-resistant material with hardly any joins, so that it would not be affected by daily use.

It also had to be beautiful, combining classic with modern touches in the personal and intimate space of a bathroom. Silestone Yukon, with its glossy finish, met these requirements perfectly, providing visual continuity and a tranquil, contemporary style. With its off-white colour and elegant grey tones, the Yukon series enabled the en-suite bathrooms in this centuries-old hotel to be updated.

In recent decades, the city of Perugia has grown sufficiently to provide a dynamic and cosmopolitan setting for visitors and residents alike while preserving its small-town charm, nestled in the landscape of Umbria, one of Italy’s loveliest regions. The city’s businesses, as a result, have a very real commitment to upholding its aesthetics and history.

The owners of Caffè Morlacchi, one of Perugia’s oldest bars and strategically located on the square of the same name, were clear that any refurbishment of the premises must preserve the welcoming and elegant atmosphere. Their challenge was to find a material that would withstand the heavy footfall of a popular bar while also complementing the the brick-vaulted ceilings. To accompany this iconic feature of Caffè Morlacchi, along with Liberty Lamps, designer chairs and custom lighting, there could only be one candidate: Silestone.

There are restaurants designed with such attention to detail that diners find the interior as delightful as the food. In the grounds of São Paulo’s Museum of Image and Sound, Pipo serves a bold fusion menu for all five senses within an open-plan, airy space where food and nature are the stars. Dekton and Silestone surfaces form the basis for this delicious pairing.

Architects Renata Castilho and Camila Buciani, from RCB Arquitectura, wanted to create a relaxed, light-filled setting without architectural restrictions of any kind. The main kitchen opens onto the dining room, providing a live and direct view of the attention to detail that chefs put into every dish.

The Leonardo tower, located in Sandton, Johannesburg, has become the tallest building in Africa. It measures 234 metres high and is divided into 55 floors. The work, which began in 2015 and was finished at the end of 2019, is, in the words of Bart Dorrestein, CEO of the company that built it, “a symbol of hope and the future for South Africa in difficult times”.

The Leonardo is located at 75 Maude Street, a stone’s throw from the economic, commercial and leisure hub that surrounds Nelson Mandela Square and the Sandton Convention Centre.

Caffè Bonazzi is a time-honoured Perugia institution, an historic place where the traditional Italian love of good coffee is embraced. Recently, the new management decided to give the cafe a makeover, which took the form of a respectful renovation in keeping with its original spirit. Silestone was the ideal material for the job.

At Bonazzi, activity is centred around the bar from which freshly-made coffees and typical local pastries are offered. Its new design required a warm colour that would match the cafe’s daily rhythms and the experience served with every drink. Silestone, in its Lyra shade and with the Suede finish, was the perfect choice: beige and brown tones, with veins that simulate the swirls of milk in coffee, lend this cafeteria bar a “delicious” feel.

In December 2019, the world known hotel chain HILTON opened a new property in Poland, the first “Hilton Resort” hotel in the country. It is also the first Hilton chain facility in Poland built in accordance with LEED ecological certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
