Designed by AMO, the research studio of OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture), in collaboration with Virgil Abloh, the multidisciplinary CEO and creative director of Off-White, this new space seeks to be a fusion of art, fashion, and architecture. It is conceived to be multipurpose, and its exterior reflects its being more than a shop. The facade is made distinctive by a big shiny X crossing out the word ‘SHOP,’ and by Abloh’s personal stamp, a 1m² stock room that will be visible from outside, inviting passers-by in.

The flagship store will contain 262m² of space distributed across two floors and influenced by the aesthetic of modern fulfilment centers. The floors are of industrial concrete, the shelves of stainless steel, and the walls of corrugated metal, contrasting with the black Marquina and white Carrara marble finishes and the electric blue of the centerpiece staircase. To facilitate rearrangement and so that the retail space can quickly be turned into an art gallery or a venue for fashion shows or music gigs, all furniture pieces will have wheels.
