Between Sky and Water is the winning proposal of the Dasland Cabin 2.0 architectural competition, held at Sweden a few months ago.

The architects ahead of the project propose a different point of view towards the Dasland Cabin, one of the oldest and most common residential typology in the area before the industrial revolution. These houses are built in laminated timberwork  and also used as the interior walls. The aim is to save material, effort and energy in the construction of these rural hubs. The house is insulated with wood fibers and clad by a simple vertical wood facade, let to grey. Both the facade and the standing-seam metal roof relate to an agricultural tradition of simple construction methods. When it comes to its plan, the house organises itself around two solid cores containing  the private programe. Dasland cabin 2.0. is making its way into the Swedish catalogue homes market as an affordable option for those looking at the same time for architecture and aesthetic quality.
