From 11th April to 26th May, Juka Interiorismo will occupy one of the 55 stands at Casa Decor 2024, the Madrid fair dedicated to the best in design, in an edition that pays tribute to the southern influence of the Palacio de la Trinidad. “The Andalusian influence was a source of inspiration, which is reflected in the design of its elements,” says Javier Tomás, head of Juka Interiorismo.

Once again, Casa Decor will be held in a unique location. This time the venue will be the Palacio de la Trinidad, a building that has been closed to the public for years and is a ‘secret’ even to the citizens. Located in the Salamanca neighbourhood, this 3,600 square metre building stands out for its gardens and its particular architecture, which is clearly influenced by Sevillian tradition.

The history of this country style building dates back to 1928, when María de los Ángeles Gutiérrez Suárez ordered it built. The woman, who came from a high bourgeois family, had Andalusian ancestors, which greatly influenced the design of the architect Luis Alemany.

Seville’s inspiration

Called ‘Entre dos aguas’ (Between two waters), after the popular song by flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía, Juka’s project recreates a living room designed to “listen to music, turn on creativity and stimulate imagination,” as well as the corridor leading to it.

The whole project aims to show the character of the raw materials, highlighting “the elegance of wood and the natural strength of marble.” Touches of copper and straight and semicircular shapes round off a design conceived to create harmony and well-being.

Stones with character and ease of use

To bring his design to life, Tomás teamed up with Sensa and Dekton. In the case of Sensa, the colour chosen was Nahoa, a unique Brazilian quartzite with a brown background crossed by black and beige veins, which offers exceptional performance thanks to its exclusive anti-stain protection.

The professional has used it in a very original way to create details that enhance the décor. This is the case, for example, with the doorway and window frames and the top of the side table. “It was love at first sight: it is a stone with a very special and attractive design,” says Tomás.

Meanwhile, Dekton Nacre, a cream colour that ranges from fine microcement to lime plastering, with subtle details and a degraded texture that give it a high sensory value, was used for the attractive cut-out in the corridor floor. In addition, the very trendy grooved texture of Dekton Ukiyo Nacre, was used for the skirting board in the living room to enhance the effect, and Dekton Umber puts its terracota touch in a charming little table.

The professional was captivated by Dekton’s “unique design”, which is very versatile for all surfaces. Tomás also highlights its ease of installation, as well as its ease of maintenance and avant-garde character, since Dekton does not scratch or stain and is resistant to impacts, ice and even fire.

“Working with Cosentino is a very satisfying experience thanks to the high quality and wide range of products, as well as the support that the company offers us as a customer. It is an enriching experience to work with these materials in continuous innovation,” the interior designer says finally.

The new Access Systems, Inc. headquarters sits along a well-traveled road and is a landmark in the city of Waukee, Iowa. Surrounded by several newly built offices, Access Systems was looking for a structure that stood out, and they did just that by incorporating high-end finishes into the design.

Downing Construction, a design/build firm, contacted CKF about this new project, and after several collaboration meetings, the final design and layout were complete and the project was ready to go from blueprint to reality. To give the building a true ‘wow’ factor, Dekton was named the surfacing solution of choice. The versatile material is available in dozens of stunning designs and was used in several interior and exterior applications throughout the complex.

The marble-inspired Dekton Portum color can be seen on the facade which is fixed to the building’s exterior using the Rainscreen Undercut Anchor System, which allows for a seamless look. Access Systems also needed a strong and resistant facade to stand up to the inclement Iowa weather with minimal maintenance and without fading, degrading, or losing its technical properties.

In the middle of the building sits a massive atrium with two walls finished in Dekton Portum from floor to ceiling. The same color is used vertically in the exterior and interior to create visual harmony and seamless indoor/outdoor flow. The striking Portum wall is accompanied by a stair platform wrapped in Dekton Zenith, a durable solution for areas with high foot traffic.

On the interior of the building, you will find additional Cosentino surfaces that add value and design. Silestone countertops and backsplashes in the shades Et. Noir and Et. Bella can be seen in the employee break rooms and reception desk, adding luxurious finishes that will stand the test of time.

Cosentino’s partner, CKF, provided and installed the finishes, which complemented each other to create a beautiful and seamless design from the inside out.

When it comes to interior design, achieving a natural result means choosing and working with a professional who understands how to harmonise with the environment. This principle was exemplified in the recent transformation of a house in Nice by Allegra Garrone from the studio Garrone Architetti. At first glance, the space appears minimalist, almost neutral, but the choice of materials ensured that the sense of warmth and welcome was not compromised. Much of the credit for this goes to the choice of Dekton Pietra Kode as the main ally.

According to Garrone, the Pietra Kode collection was chosen for its “remarkable versatility” and “excellent performance from a technical point of view”, which allowed it to be used almost without restriction in the various facets of the project. As always, environmental awareness is key, so the choice was also influenced by the material’s ability to harmonise with the natural hues of the Côte d’Azur, reflecting the sandy beaches and coastal cliffs in the design.

Cohesion and continuity for a harmonious aesthetic

One of the most appreciated aspects of this project is the way in which the material has been used on all the surfaces of the house, creating cohesion and continuity, and giving the space a unified aesthetic. Particularly in the bathrooms, the continuous use of Pietra Kode from floor to countertop contributes to a sense of spaciousness and unity, eliminating visual barriers and maximising the perception of space.

The Dekton Pietra Kode colours, Nebbia and Marmorio, have been deliberately chosen to capture the colours of the coastal environment and to enhance the brightness and the overall atmosphere of the rooms. According to Garrone, “these light shades play a crucial role in creating a sense of openness and lightness in the space”.

The project was conceived as part of a property development that needed to balance sophistication and elegance with the tastes of a broad spectrum of people, all within a budget set by the customer. Garrone and his team were particularly drawn to the durability, strength and versatility of Dekton in this context, and intend to explore its use in outdoor environments for future projects.

In the apartment in Oslo where the artist, composer and children's book author, Ben Adams, lives with his family, the layout caused. In order to get to the master bedroom, one had to go through the bathroom. The change has resulted in two compact bathrooms where Dekton from Cosentino really plays a main role.

Before starting the big change, Ben did some good research. There were other apartments in the same building that had found solutions to exactly the same problem. By looking at other people's new bathrooms, he and his wife, Sara Skjoldnes Adams, found what they believe to be the optimal solution - together with entrepreneur Hussain El Haddaoui, known as @husseinfikser on Instagram.

“I got to see our neighbors’ new bathrooms. That gave me some important tips on what I think could work for us and what wouldn't. It helped create optimal utilization of the area”, says Ben.

Good experience from their own cabin

A few years ago, the Adams family built a lovely cabin in Tuddal, Norway, where all three wet rooms and the kitchen were covered with surfaces from Cosentino. Having experienced the quality of Dekton, made the choice for the two new bathrooms easy. Both the floor and the walls in their new bathrooms at home are covered with Dekton.

“We are so happy with the tiles on the floor and the walls covering in the bathrooms in the cabin, so there was no reason to look for something else now”, says Ben.

Selected colors for each bathroom

With two bathrooms, Ben and Sara have selected colors for each bathroom. Ben went for Dekton Kelya on the floor, which is inspired by black marble with light veins. On the wall is Dekton Rem, an elegant white stone inspired by Calacatta Lincoln marble. The bathroom furniture from Scala Bad also has a surface from Dekton in the color Entzo, which has taken its inspiration from Calacatta Gold.

Sara, on the other hand, went for a brighter feeling. The sought-after color Dekton Arga with a glossy surface in the shower area goes well with the color Dekton Albarium on the walls and floor. Dekton Albarium has a toned-down expression of a plastered surface, in a calm powdery white color inspired by marble dust. The bathroom furniture is also from Scala bad, with a worktop from Dekton Marmorio, which harmonizes nicely with the other colors.

The surfaces are cut in 70 x 70 cm tiles at Cosentino's factory in Spain, and installed by the craftsmen of the @husseinfikser team. The slatted wall is provided by Fritzøe Engros and installed by Møbelsnekkerne. The nice taps from Tapwell complete the look of the new favorite rooms.

"Now one can enjoy the bath, while another uses the other bathroom, without us getting stuck in our own bedroom. It is especially practical when family and friends stays for several days. We are very happy about the upgrade, which has made everything easier for us”, says Ben.

A couple who love the beach, travelling, enjoying life and occasionally babysitting their grandchildren decided to buy a house by the sea where they could spend weekends and summers. They wanted it to be a comfortable, warm place where they could make the most of their time there. Designer Tania Nikolitsis of Tanik Design was responsible for making this dream a reality. “He was the managing director of an energy company based in Adelaide, while she was a housewife. They now have four grandchildren and spend weekends and summers here, while their main home is in Glenunga. They love the beach and that is why they bought this house almost three years ago,” says the designer.

In this small private paradise, the bathroom had to be up to the task, and if comfort was the priority, the water area had to be as spa-like as possible. And so it was designed by Tania Nikolitsis.

Consistent and spacious

“The use of Dekton for the wet areas makes the interior look consistent, spacious, with a resort, hotel feel,” says the studio. Specifically, the material of choice for this area was Dekton Marmorio. “When considering the entire interior colour scheme, Marmorio was the right choice as it complemented the mosaics, rugs, wall colours and sanitary ware we had in mind: it met all the requirements.”

With its linear nature, the travertine-like Dekton Marmorio creates continuity and gives the impression of cascading stone walls. “Its soft palette allowed me to use eye-catching sanitary ware. Although there is a contrast, they work very well together. Even the bespoke mirror frames take on a whole new meaning here.”

The elegant, nuanced grey is enhanced by the natural light flooding into the room through a large window. Floors, walls, cabinets, washbasin surfaces... it is all enveloping. “Dekton offered a perfect look that I could use in a wide range of applications, such as wall claddings, flooring, table tops and joinery. All of these applications are very important to my interior designs and that is why I chose Cosentino to bring them to life.”

Cosentino Scandinavia, a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of innovative surfaces for architecture and design, has become part of the company Ballingslöv AB's latest product launch - their Outdoor Kitchen - through its durable material Dekton. The outdoor kitchen is cladded in Dekton Albarium and was unveiled in February at Cosentino City Stockholm.

The idea is to give your outdoor kitchen a unique and stylish touch that reflects your personality and creates a place where you can enjoy cooking and socializing moments outdoors.

Dekton for outdoor kitchen

Cosentino and Ballingslöv AB have jointly launched Ballingslöv's kitchen with system 45 for outdoor environments during Stockholm Design Week in February this year under the fantastic theme "Welcome out". Together, we showcased the kitchen at Cosentino City Stockholm on Rosenlundsgatan 29a at Designverket, in a spectacular display kitchen cladded in light beige-grey Dekton Albarium.

Dekton, Cosentino's revolutionary material, is the perfect choice for outdoor kitchens. Its exceptional durability and resistance to extreme weather create a perfect solution for outdoor environments. With this collaboration, Ballingslöv AB can offer their customers the opportunity to create their dream outdoor kitchens that reflect their personality and style, while receiving a high-quality and sustainable design.

The new System 45 outdoor kitchen has an acid-proof stainless steel frame (1.4404), which provides outstanding resistance to corrosion and rot. This means that customers can enjoy their outdoor kitchen for a long time to come, without having to worry about deterioration or maintenance. For Cosentino Scandinavia and Ballingslöv AB jointly, this means that customers are offered a high-quality and durable product that will exceed their expectations.

Ballingslöv's thoughts on the outdoor kitchen design

With this kitchen launch, Ballingslöv AB wants to take the outdoor environment to a new level. Their outdoor kitchen will make an elegant and practical addition to the garden or patio. As a customer, you should be able to explore the convenience of ready-made modules for your outdoor kitchen, where design, quality and sustainability go hand in hand. You can choose from elegant modules that can be easily adapted to your garden style, thus creating a sophisticated outdoor environment. With high-quality materials and pre-engineered units, maintenance is minimal and performance is long-lasting. Create an outdoor kitchen that not only impresses aesthetically but also lives up to high standards of quality and durability – an investment for both the present, the coming summer months and the future.

Discover endless possibilities for your outdoor kitchen and let yourself be inspired, here is a catalogue of all the options within System 45. From functional design to innovative details, the idea is to create an outdoor cooking area that reflects your personality. The customer can choose between two carefully selected Dekton colours from the design team at Ballingslöv AB to create their dream outdoor kitchen. They want to provide a place to create memories that will last for years to come. All Ballingslöv retailers offer this product and help customers transform their outdoor environment into an oasis of style and functionality.

The drawers and worktop are made of Dekton material, as a UV-resistant material that can withstand heat, frost, scratches, and stains. The material's properties are therefore also well suited to a challenging Scandinavian outdoor climate. All sets are available in two different finishes. Dekton Albarium and Micron.

"It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with Ballingslöv AB during Design Week to launch their new outdoor kitchen, cladded in Dekton Albarium, with us in our Showroom Cosentino City Stockholm on Rosenlundsgatan/Designverket. Located in the tranquil and idyllic Maraetai Beach, New Zealand, this home owned by two local entrepreneurs was transformed into an oasis of calm and modernity by interior design studio Melanie Sa’u. Passionate about sailing and accustomed to the wonders of the coastal environment, the customers were looking for a space that would reflect their love of the sea, while standing the test of time and the demands of a busy lifestyle.

The renovation project meant going back to basics, stripping the house down to its bare bones and redesigning the layout where necessary. The choice of fresh white colours, which were complemented by wooden floors, reflects the customers’ desire to create a warm and welcoming, yet bright and fresh space that captures the essence of its location.

According to the studio, the most notable element of the project is the use of Dekton Trance in the kitchen living area. “We used Dekton Trance as a focal point in the kitchen living area. Not only did it fit in perfectly with the tranquil coastal atmosphere, but it also added a touch of modernity to the space,” says the studio. This material brings style and freshness to the design, while offering the durability and strength required to meet customer demands.

A new design with improved aesthetics and comfort

The decision to use Cosentino materials, and Dekton in particular, was driven by the need to combine aesthetics and functionality. “We focused on choosing materials that would be able to stand the test of time,” says the studio. The properties of Dekton, a material that is heat, scratch and stain-resistant, offer a practical solution for a family that does not want to worry about surface maintenance.

As for the customers, they found the blue veining of Dekton Trance to be a reflection of their surroundings and a constant reminder of the beach they love so much. “Although we had white and more subtle stones in mind for the project, it wasn’t until we visited the Cosentino factory in Auckland and saw a large Trance slab that the customer fell in love with the blue veining,” the studio says. Once installed, the choice became definitive, providing a unique look that exceeded their initial expectations.

In addition to their beauty, the use of Dekton surfaces gave the family the durability they needed to maintain their lifestyle with complete peace of mind. “Dekton offered a level of durability that allowed the customers to concentrate on their busy routines without having to worry too much about their worktops,” says the designer, highlighting how the choice of materials has had a positive impact on their daily lives.
