Chef René Redzepi’s new Noma restaurant, holder of two Michelin stars, has been designed by the firm of Bjarke Ingels.

The project involved renovating an abandoned old military warehouse, located in the Christiana neighborhood of the Danish capital, and adding new volumes at points where small constructions had once stood and been demolished. In this way, the historical footprint of the place has been respected. Eleven spaces are organized around the main kitchen in a series of volumes separated from but connected to each other. There are three glazed constructions, and glass is also present in corridors, large windows, and skylights, inviting diners to go through the premises while enjoying views of the surrounding landscape.
