Línea 3 Cocinas couldn’t miss the new edition of Casa Decor 2024. This year they have enlisted the help of designer Steven Littlehales to create their space, ‘A kitchen to contemplate’. According to Littlehales, this name is full of intention: “The name of the project has a double meaning. This space is a kitchen to look at and appreciate on an aesthetic level, a space where you can find inspiration for your own project, but also a kitchen that aims to be a space where you can relax, read, meditate and contemplate life.”

“This is perfectly reflected in the Palacio de la Trinidad, where Casa Decor 2024 is being held, and even more so in the Pavilion and balconies of the room where we are now, which for me represent an oasis in the hectic life of the city. We want to show that it is possible to have a kitchen that opens onto a space other than the living or dining room, such as the entrance to the house or a corner that can be used as a reading, breakfast or snack area,” he further says.

Línea 3 Cocinas is characterised by its versatility, which at all times seeks to convey the personality of its customers. And in the case of Casa Decor 2024, the inspiration came from the designer himself. Steven Littlehales is British but has been living in Spain for the past 20 years, and it is precisely this duality that they wanted to capture in the space ‘A kitchen to contemplate’. How did they do it? His British side is conveyed through the use of marquetry, straight lines, symmetry, oak and other woods, while his Spanish side is defined by the use of colour and the warmth of the envelope.

The space is divided into three areas: a living area where you can have a cup of tea – he is English, after all –, a kitchen area with a peninsula, and finally an area that includes two spaces, a laundry room and a booth that serves as a cocktail bar and is therefore a bit dark and nocturnal.

Dekton Awake is the star of the living area. Its golden veins blend perfectly with the blue and white tones that dominate the room, a tribute to the Mediterranean, its sun, its light and its sunsets. In fact, this colour reinterprets the iconic features of precious paonazzo marble thanks to a thick veining with gradients of light grey and cream that blend with luscious rusty terracotta shades and subtle hints of inky blue.

Meanwhile, the colour chosen for the laundry area was Silestone Posidonia Green, a serene, full of light shade of green that elegantly illuminates and brings harmony to any space. Specifically, it was used to clad the splashback behind a sink recessed in a white and wood cabinet.

Finally, Dekton Umber, a subtle terracotta colour inspired by umber – a natural pigment with a reddish hue – and a textured, warm to the touch surface perfect for adding a touch of personality, was used for the cocktail bar, an area designed to be slightly darker for the night.

Susan Semmelmann leads a team of 30 professionals at Semmelmann Interiors, creating forward-thinking spaces that have never been done before. Susan and her team designed this stunning Fort Worth home bringing to life a vision of refined elegance that pays homage to nature. To bring this creative concept to life, they relied on Dekton by Cosentino for the surfaces in different colors and applications.

Dekton Soke can be seen on the countertops, perfectly accommodating the barstools and achieving a tapered yet elegant aesthetic. The color, inspired by classic cement, combines realistic veining and nuanced details that bring forward a cool and classic look with the unmatched performance of Dekton.

Dekton Trilium, on the other hand, is inspired by volcanic rock, showcasing a mirage of brown with gray and black touches. This unmistakable color was used to craft the four-sided fireplace with a copper inset, which extends all the way up to the ceiling to create a true statement piece. The imposing fireplace is visible from the entry to the living room and adjoining passageways, which helps ensure a cohesive visual flow throughout the space. Trilium is manufactured with up to 80% recycled materials in its composition, making it not only a beautiful, but sustainable choice as well.

Every material in this home was meticulously selected and curated to bring to life a vision based on the idea that regardless of background or origin, nature appeals to us all. In addition to Dekton, the designer incorporated natural elements in the space including organic fibers, natural metals, branches, concrete, rich copper accents, cozy hides, and more.

Kitchen designer Saana Mantere is an expert in single-family home renovations, so when it came time to renovate her own home, she knew exactly what she wanted. “Our house has 159 square metres of living space, a wooden structure with large windows, and although it sometimes feels dark, this is intended to contrast with the earthy colours we have chosen for the area next to the terrace,” she explains.

Another way of emphasising this play of light and dark was to use opposite finishes in the kitchen to those of the furniture. And in this sense, she was quite clear that Dekton Trance, from the Onirika collection, would be the surface that defined the design concept.

“I am a furniture designer and my husband works in construction and together we have completed dozens of projects. When designing the layout of the house, we would of course give enough space to the kitchen and we would choose functional, high quality furniture for it. At Noblessa we found a model of furniture that we liked: Divine Fjord blue, which has an ultra matt finish. In our search for style and elegance, we used the LineN collection of handleless furniture in combination with furniture with large black handles and other all-black furniture,” says Saana Mantere.

But it wasn’t all plain sailing. In fact, the choice of worktops was a real headache for the couple. “In contrast to the dark coloured kitchen, we wanted something light and patterned without compromising on durability and appearance,” she says. And they found the solution when they came across Dekton’s Onirika collection. Out of the blue, Trance became the missing piece in our kitchen. And we chose it for both the worktops and the middle section of the room.”

Dekton Onirika Trance is a fluid colour with a bluish veil. The background reveals a combination of cream and grey colours, a mix of tones that blend with the white palette. The fine veins move between oxides and fade to reddish gold.

As a kitchen expert, everything had to be perfect in hers, and the other furniture and appliances in the room matched the worktops they had chosen. “The choice of sink was an easy one. We chose the Etagon 500-U from Blanco. We also wanted the sink area to be different from trendy colours, something close to nature, but at the same time in keeping with the taps we had chosen. Therefore, the sink is a coffee colour and the tap is bronze, both dark brown shades. Specifically, we chose the Tapwell ARM887, which has a design that matches the look and feel of the entire kitchen.”

Most of the appliances are hidden from sight and the light-coloured worktops are complemented by the kitchen’s location in one of the brightest areas of the house, next to the terrace, where natural light abounds. “In our busy daily lives, we value functionality, so we chose all the appliances based on their features, such as a large fridge with a zero-degree drawer and a No Frost freezer, a three-level dishwasher, an induction hob and a Samsung compact oven,” says the designer. This very pragmatic approach does not compromise on style and elegance. On the contrary, the wood used for the roof and flooring reinforces them, creating an enveloping warmth that rounds off the design.

Beyond Interior is a new Finnish design furniture brand that Cosentino has started a collaboration with and taken part of the designs. They offer an unique and high-quality customized storage solutions where Dekton By Cosentino were implemented in an early stage of product portfolio development. Different colors of Dekton were chosen to match the very high-quality furniture in all respects.

The furniture is designed mainly for walk-in closets, hallways and bedrooms. Beyond Interior is now in 2024 launching tailor-made storage solutions with Dekton for the Swedish market, primarily designed for walk-in closets, hallways and bedrooms.

The company has its own factory in Estonia, where manufactured furniture is delivered directly to the end customer with a short delivery time. Behind the Beyond Interior brand is the family-owned company Stirpe Oy, which has almost 40 years of experience in furniture manufacturing for Finland's leading kitchen furnishers.

A modern and welcoming home that is as luxurious as it is practical. With Casa Fernández, Singapore-based Linear Studio Design showcases its ability to seamlessly integrate contrasts to create sleek interiors.

This almost 700 square metre semi-detached house, spread over two floors and an attic, is a prime example of the studio’s philosophy: to create personal and meaningful interiors that reflect the essence of their clients, while striking the perfect balance between beauty and functionality.

In this case, the homeowners’ love of hosting dinner parties and gatherings is evident in their choices, such as incorporating a full bar into the living room and equipping the kitchen with a large island and bar stools to facilitate interaction between guests and those cooking. For the work surfaces, the homeowners wanted to combine the luxurious look of marble with the durability needed to withstand not only daily use, but also the frequent entertaining at home.

Dekton Entzo and Dekton Awake proved to be just the ticket. The former is inspired by the Calacatta Gold marble, which reflects the realism and naturalness of the random shapes drawn by its golden veins. The latter reinterprets the iconic features of precious paonazzo marble thanks to a thick veining with gradients of light grey and cream that blend with luscious rusty terracotta shades and subtle hints of inky blue. “The naturalness and beauty of the designs offered by Cosentino caught our attention, with patterns that mimic natural stones,” recalls Linear Studio Design.

Both models complement each other beautifully and harmonise with the home’s palette of fine materials and sober colours. As homeowners demand, these surfaces can withstand everything from stains of all kinds, scratches and knocks to extreme heat and cold. For example, you can cut directly on the Dekton stone without damaging the material in the slightest, and pots and pans can be placed on it straight from the oven with the same result.

“The use of Cosentino’s Dekton has truly elevated our space. Its luxurious appearance and organic texture lends an aura of subtle opulence to our kitchen and pantry. It was the perfect choice, seamlessly blending glamour with a natural aesthetic,” continue the interior design studio’s experts.

Under the direction of interior designer Karolina Zagrodzka, Polish studio House Loves has carried out a kitchen renovation project that redefines the concept of harmony, demonstrating how aesthetics, functionality and different characters can coexist in the same space, reflecting the essence of its users.

The space is dominated by a balanced style, a mix of current trends, wood and neutral colours, telling a story of converging tastes. Here, the magic lies in the combination of two different worlds that reflect the personal tastes of the owners: modern rustic and minimalist. Two worlds that may seem contradictory at first sight, but which in this project find a successful meeting point.

The dark oak flooring establishes a dialogue with the sturdy shelving, also in oak, for a touch of warmth that evokes a modern rustic style. However, this approach to nature is tempered by the sandy tones of the worktops and fronts, and the natural, muted tone of the oak, which soften the transition to an elegant minimalism embodied by the large formats of the fronts, the bold use of black and the delicate details of the handles and lamps, all of which create a space that exudes simplicity and sophistication.

The key to achieving this result was the use of Dekton by Cosentino on the worktops, both in the integrated work area and on the stunning central island. The colour chosen for these surfaces was Dekton Nebbia with a matt finish, a light beige flecked with greyish-brown that makes the worktops stand out for their aesthetics and unparalleled functionality.

Dekton is the best partner when it comes to resistance and versatility, as it is able to withstand daily use without showing signs of wear and tear, hiding any stains that may occur in the kitchen. This ultra-compact stone was therefore chosen not only for its aesthetics, but also for its performance as a durable and practical solution for interior design.

The renovation of this kitchen by House Loves teaches us a lesson: design is always the best bridge to unite two seemingly contradictory styles and create a space that is functional, beautiful and deeply personal.

Interior designer Raúl Martins has masterfully crafted what is undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and intimate projects of his illustrious career: his own home, which seamlessly integrates his interior design studio. The aim was to create a welcoming environment in which to bring together an array of unique decorative items collected during his extensive travels to Italy, Portugal and Morocco. At the heart of this design collection is an earth-toned tapestry from the 1950s, which he fell in love with in Paris and used as a source of inspiration.

Nestled in Madrid’s Plaza de la Villa de París, in the grand confines of a 19th-century building that once housed the German Embassy, Martins’ residence was frozen in time, with its 1980s interiors still intact. Undeterred, the interior designer embarked on an extensive refurbishment that has revived the classic, stately charm the apartment once had, while retaining its essence of comfort.

Spread over 250 square metres, the home is divided into three spacious rooms. As you enter the first, you are greeted by a grand entrance, adorned with two impressive resin-coated rope panels sculpted into captivating geometric configurations. Beyond this is Raúl’s studio, where he and his team carry out their daily design work.

The second room unfolds into a double living area, overlooking the square below. Here Raúl Martins shows off his skills, having personally designed the sofa, the lamp, the lacquer and marble coffee table and the oak side table. A virtuoso in harmonising different spaces with the help of all types of pieces, Martins uses a palette of earthy tones to create an atmosphere of comfort, cosiness and visual allure.

Within this living space, an exquisite geometric table in cotton paper and lacquer steals the spotlight. Of course, this exclusive piece is also a bespoke creation by Martins. To enhance it (even more), it is accompanied by precious relics with a rich history: a German oak sideboard and a framed Moroccan tapestry, both from the 19th century.

The third room, which completes the project, is the home’s secluded sanctuary, containing the kitchen, dining area and master bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

The kitchen is a symphony of textures and materials based around earthy tones that reflect the dominant theme of the home. In a nod to the home’s heritage, Raúl kept the old wall panelling as a treasured feature. But on top of a pristine white lacquered cabinet we find one of the keys to the project: a Dekton Aura worktop, which adds a contemporary flair that blends perfectly with the rest of the kitchen’s elements. Dekton Aura is an iconic colour within this ultra-compact stone, featuring an off-white canvas with varying greyish veins, reminiscent of Calacatta and Carrara marble.

Against the backdrop of an Abraham Lacalle masterpiece that brings colour and vibrancy to the room, a 19th-century French chest of drawers stands sentinel, housing Raúl’s meticulously curated collection of cookery books and porcelain designs.

Moving into the dining area, bespoke furniture and textiles seamlessly continue the aesthetic journey. Here, natural stones and resins converge around a fireplace, creating a magnetic attraction that enhances the room’s inherent warmth.

The bedroom is decorated with soft, earthy coloured textiles and mirrored bedside tables, creating a fascinating play of contrasts. The en-suite bathroom oozes character, highlighted by a stunning natural stone washbasin, surrounded by the vintage and sophisticated aesthetic full of personality that characterises all Raúl Martins projects.

From 11th April to 26th May, Juka Interiorismo will occupy one of the 55 stands at Casa Decor 2024, the Madrid fair dedicated to the best in design, in an edition that pays tribute to the southern influence of the Palacio de la Trinidad. “The Andalusian influence was a source of inspiration, which is reflected in the design of its elements,” says Javier Tomás, head of Juka Interiorismo.

Once again, Casa Decor will be held in a unique location. This time the venue will be the Palacio de la Trinidad, a building that has been closed to the public for years and is a ‘secret’ even to the citizens. Located in the Salamanca neighbourhood, this 3,600 square metre building stands out for its gardens and its particular architecture, which is clearly influenced by Sevillian tradition.

The history of this country style building dates back to 1928, when María de los Ángeles Gutiérrez Suárez ordered it built. The woman, who came from a high bourgeois family, had Andalusian ancestors, which greatly influenced the design of the architect Luis Alemany.

Called ‘Entre dos aguas’ (Between two waters), after the popular song by flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía, Juka’s project recreates a living room designed to “listen to music, turn on creativity and stimulate imagination,” as well as the corridor leading to it.

The whole project aims to show the character of the raw materials, highlighting “the elegance of wood and the natural strength of marble.” Touches of copper and straight and semicircular shapes round off a design conceived to create harmony and well-being.

To bring his design to life, Tomás teamed up with Sensa and Dekton. In the case of Sensa, the colour chosen was Nahoa, a unique Brazilian quartzite with a brown background crossed by black and beige veins, which offers exceptional performance thanks to its exclusive anti-stain protection.

The professional has used it in a very original way to create details that enhance the décor. This is the case, for example, with the doorway and window frames and the top of the side table. “It was love at first sight: it is a stone with a very special and attractive design,” says Tomás.

Meanwhile, Dekton Nacre, a cream colour that ranges from fine microcement to lime plastering, with subtle details and a degraded texture that give it a high sensory value, was used for the attractive cut-out in the corridor floor. In addition, the very trendy grooved texture of Dekton Ukiyo Nacre, was used for the skirting board in the living room to enhance the effect, and Dekton Umber puts its terracota touch in a charming little table.

The professional was captivated by Dekton’s “unique design”, which is very versatile for all surfaces. Tomás also highlights its ease of installation, as well as its ease of maintenance and avant-garde character, since Dekton does not scratch or stain and is resistant to impacts, ice and even fire.

“Working with Cosentino is a very satisfying experience thanks to the high quality and wide range of products, as well as the support that the company offers us as a customer. It is an enriching experience to work with these materials in continuous innovation,” the interior designer says finally.

The new Access Systems, Inc. headquarters sits along a well-traveled road and is a landmark in the city of Waukee, Iowa. Surrounded by several newly built offices, Access Systems was looking for a structure that stood out, and they did just that by incorporating high-end finishes into the design.

Downing Construction, a design/build firm, contacted CKF about this new project, and after several collaboration meetings, the final design and layout were complete and the project was ready to go from blueprint to reality. To give the building a true ‘wow’ factor, Dekton was named the surfacing solution of choice. The versatile material is available in dozens of stunning designs and was used in several interior and exterior applications throughout the complex.

The marble-inspired Dekton Portum color can be seen on the facade which is fixed to the building’s exterior using the Rainscreen Undercut Anchor System, which allows for a seamless look. Access Systems also needed a strong and resistant facade to stand up to the inclement Iowa weather with minimal maintenance and without fading, degrading, or losing its technical properties.

In the middle of the building sits a massive atrium with two walls finished in Dekton Portum from floor to ceiling. The same color is used vertically in the exterior and interior to create visual harmony and seamless indoor/outdoor flow. The striking Portum wall is accompanied by a stair platform wrapped in Dekton Zenith, a durable solution for areas with high foot traffic.

On the interior of the building, you will find additional Cosentino surfaces that add value and design. Silestone countertops and backsplashes in the shades Et. Noir and Et. Bella can be seen in the employee break rooms and reception desk, adding luxurious finishes that will stand the test of time.

Cosentino’s partner, CKF, provided and installed the finishes, which complemented each other to create a beautiful and seamless design from the inside out.
