Villa Omnia in Ibiza with Dekton and Silestone

Designed by the prizewinning architect Jano Blanco, Villa Omnia is a handsome, modern and elegant luxury villa 550 m2 in size, located on a parcel of land 20,000 m2 at the very heart of the mountains of Ibiza (Balearic Islands, Spain). It communicates a feeling of timeless natural beauty, and every detail is taken care of to offer perfect balance and the ideal place to take a seat, rest and relax.

The latest technology melts with next-generation materials for construction, architecture and design like the ultra-compact surface Dekton and the low-silica mineral surface Silestone. Both materials give form to indoor and outdoor floors, stairs, pool, kitchen benchtop, bathroom sinks and surfaces, wall cladding and shower trays.

Application: outdoor patio flooring and chillout zone (no-slip)

Villa Omnia has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, spacious common areas and corridors, parking, a patio, chillout zone and an outdoor pool 20 metres long. The large glass windows let natural light in and afford impressive views of the ocean and mountains.
The indoor and outdoor colour palette ranges from light greys and whites to periodic brown tones, providing an air of sophistication, warmth and an overall feeling of spaciousness. The straight lines and large formats become one with the minimalism and the art.

Indoor and outdoor floors with Dekton

Nearly 700 m2 of the ultracompact surface Dekton make up part of the interior and exterior flooring of this spectacular villa.
The use of 8-mm-thick Dekton for this application stands out. This means that the flooring can boast excellent technical and aesthetic properties in a format that is thin, light and easy to handle during installation.
Dekton is the perfect material for ensuring that the design flows from the inside out – or vice versa – to achieving the desired harmony and continuity. Cosentino’s surface is able to remain unmarked and perfectregardless of where it is placed. It adapts to the climate of its surroundings, including temperature changes, and is highly resistant to UV rays.

The use of no-slip grip technology also gives Dekton a higher safety index in order to prevent possible accidents in the pool area.
The subtle grey colour palette of Dekton Strato provides that feeling of spaciousness that was the goal from the outset, and contrasts elegantly with the white colour that wraps the villa.
The hardness, resistance and easy-to-maintain nature of Dekton makes it into the perfect product for use as pavement.

Dekton by Cosentino: A safe, elegant pool

Dekton makes Villa Omnia’s 20-metre-long pool stand out. Its design, based on straight lines, is restrained and elegant. In it, aesthetics and safety come hand in hand.
The pool is made of custom pieces of Dekton in Sirocco, a limestone-like rough grey that provides a natural, restrained look. The entire paved area is also equipped with no-slip grip technology to prevent slips and ensure maximum safety.
Thanks to its excellent performance when wet, Dekton® is perfect for pool applications. Neither the composition nor the aesthetics of Dekton® change over time, ensuring its long-term durability and original beauty.

Dekton by Cosentino: Custom: stairs, vertical surfaces and shower trays

Special and custom-made indoor and outdoor architectural items are made possible by the versatility of Dekton. Villa Omnia is an impeccable example of the same.
The stairs of the villa, located both inside and outside the house, are made out of 2-cm-thick pieces of Dekton custom-cut to size. The chosen colour is the one that dominates most of the floor of the project: the grey and urban Strato.
Strato is also the colour chosen for the shower trays installed in each of the house’s five bathrooms. The unique and exclusive design of the Kador model is tailored to the space, incorporating smooth, sandy bands that provide the greatest possible anti-slip protection.
colour of Dekton called Aura 15, thanks to its never-ending symmetrical pattern of veins, is largely responsible for this result. Vertical and horizontal continuity come together with ideal mechanical properties to fearlessly resist the characteristics of a bathroom environment. The pieces, produced in a large format and 8 mm thick, provide striking, attractive uniformity.

Silestone by Cosentino: Kitchen and bathroom surfaces

Every one of the bathrooms in the villa is equipped with a benchtop made of the low-silica mineral surface Silestone, with one or two built-in Elegance sinks from the Bath Collection by Cosentino. The assembly creates a unique architectural piece with a superb aesthetic result. The bold, eternal personality of the colour Blanco Zeus is simply perfect for each of the rooms.
The house’s majestic open-plan kitchen features a large Silestone island that dominates the space due to its size and brightness. Silestone Iconic White, the purest white, blends with the other light colours of its surroundings and contrasts with the large solid wood table.
In both bathroom and kitchen, the Silestone® surface offers beauty, visual continuity, light, quality, maximum hygiene, durability, safety and ease of cleaning. There is no doubt that it is a splendid choice for both indoor spaces.

Manuel Ayas. Entrepreneur and owner: ‘The villa was my dream project, and it meant investing a very significant sum, so I knew that I wanted to use the best. When I visited the Cosentino factory, I was very impressed by the products, by their quality, durability, properties and versatility. My friends and colleagues told me that using products by Cosentino everywhere would be overdoing it. After the project was completed, I couldn’t be happier and more satisfied with my decision. Just like you make great food if your use good ingredients, if you work with a great architect and use an excellent product, the result will be wonderful.’

Lawrence Wine Estates operated seven premium wineries with hundreds of acres of vineyards in Napa Valley, California. When designing the company’s executive offices, designer Andrea Halkovich of Sonoma Interiors sought to honor the legacy of Napa Valley, which has embodied a pioneering spirit and understated luxury for over a century. To achieve this, the designer highlighted the diversity of the valley through a combination of art and biophilic elements from the client’s properties, including an 80-year old vine in the reception area salvaged from their Stony Hill estate. This project involved the complete renovation of a 380-square-meters office suite to accommodate 24 employees.

The color and material selection was inspired by the layers of sediment in soil, which harken the layers within their organization. The white oak in the general offices represent the topsoil, like in vineyards, abuzz with activity. The next sublayer of soil is darker, supporting the roots and preserving the vine. Similarly, the executive offices are neutral but with darker tones. The deepest layer of soil is the foundation from which everything flourishes. The CEO’s palette is rich and moody and the vines became a symbolic visual that enforces the concept throughout.

The journey begins at the entry where the stunning Dekton Laurent provides a dramatic background for the company signage. “Upon seeing Laurent at the Cosentino City San Francisco, I likened its heavy veining with the roots of grapevines and knew it was the absolute perfect element to begin telling my client’s story,” shared Andrea.

Another exciting space is the outdoor patio, which Andrea transformed into a relaxing environment in true wine country style. Beyond the community table crafted of salvaged wood lies a three meter kitchen bathed in Dekton Daze. Dekton was a critical material selection, not only for its beauty, but its heat and UV ray resistant qualities that serve as protection against the elements.

“Dekton is a material I can feel good about specifying. With so many different colors, finishes, and thicknesses there is something for every design style and application - even outdoors!” said the designer.

Cosentino is proud to have played a part in this amazing project, which won the 2023 Design Excellence Award which is awarded by the ASID California Peninsula Chapter, earning Gold for Commercial Space.

When it comes to contemporary architectural trends, there is nothing we value more than the reinterpretation of traditional housing typologies. And this is exactly what we find in the latest proposal from the Rubens Cortés Arquitectos studio, located in the heart of El Realejo, Granada. The project, which they have christened Casa R, redefines the essence of the traditional Granada courtyard house, widely known as the Carmen. Who better than the Andalusians to master the art of harmonising indoor and outdoor living? We have no doubt.

With this in mind, the porticoed spaces that traditionally served as a transition between the house and the garden are now permanently integrated. The structure unfolds as a continuous architectural dance in which house and courtyard intertwine, reflecting the region’s characteristic lifestyle of flowing between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Not wanting to be ‘slaves to their home’, the homeowners set out to create a low-maintenance, energy-efficient home. In addition, their two dogs, Ron and Jako, the masters of the house, needed plenty of space to enjoy themselves. Rubens Cortés’s solution is a hermetic, commanding house on the north side that gradually decreases in height and mass towards the south, where it culminates in a porticoed structure that embraces nature.

One of the main challenges of the construction was to avoid the unwanted thermal bridge between the roof and the house. The studio’s solution was to create a structure that connects to the house at specific points, with the external insulation wrapping around the entire dwelling. This configuration eliminates the thermal bridging and ensures energy efficiency.

The multiple applications of Dekton create a dialogue between indoors and outdoors

The choice of materials proved to be a key element in achieving the team’s vision for the project. “We mainly used Dekton for both the interior and exterior flooring. The swimming pool, the central feature that acts as a pool, is also made from Dekton,” remarks Rubens Cortés Cano, founder of the studio.

When asked why he chose Cosentino, the architect praised the ease of use for the users, the protagonists of every project. “We selected Dekton because the clients did not want to spend a lot of time and money maintaining the house. This product is highly resistant and easy to clean,” he points out. He also highlights the technical properties of the material and the large format, which allowed the use of single-cut slabs for the entire floor.

In addition to the durability, the wide range of finishes and colors offered by Dekton was another key factor. Cosentino’s ultra-compact stone features from the exterior to the interior: Kreta, Rem, Kelya, Sogne, Sirius are masterfully combined in the project. “I would like to thank Marta Gamarro for her collaboration on all the interior design work. She has used various Cosentino finishes in the bathrooms, kitchen worktops, etc.,” says the architect.

Dekton, easy to install and highly versatile

As is often the case, several alternatives were considered before Dekton was chosen. “We looked at natural stone. We even visited the Cosentino factory in Almería to explore the options. In the end, however, we opted for Dekton,” says Cortés, who is pleased with the way the material was adapted and installed in the project.

Finally, when asked about working with Cosentino, the architect does not hesitate to express his gratitude for the treatment he has received: “Throughout these years of collaboration, Fernando Molina Rodríguez and Alejandro Gómez Queralt have helped us in every possible way. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their tireless attention, advice and supervision of the project until its completion, which took almost four years”.

It is only with reliable allies such as these that goals such as Casa R, a testament to the fusion of local tradition and contemporary innovation, can be achieved.

Seville has a unique colour and the Cavalta Boutique Hotel embodies them all. Estudio Chico Muñoz undertook the complete refurbishment of a residential building in a distinctly regionalist style in the heart of Seville’s Triana district. It was quite a challenge, as the studio admits: “Apart from the façade, which dates back to 1929, the entire building was reconstructed from scratch, including the excavation of the basement”. The result is enchanting – an accommodation that smells of orange blossom and is flavoured with rebujito, exuding all the charm and essence of Seville, but with a contemporary design that does not compromise on comfort or trends.

Throughout this far from easy journey, Estudio Chico Muñoz relied on Cosentino, using Dekton and some of its finishes. “Working with Cosentino was the perfect combination of classic and modern. This is the essence of Cavalta, a building in which you can see the harmonious coexistence of materials such as wood or original vaulted ceilings with a greyish hue veined with modern, ultra-compact stone”. It’s pure art.

Meticulous decoration and culinary venues

The hotel boasts 12 meticulously decorated rooms and a range of culinary venues for a unique dining experience, including an exclusive restaurant, cocktail bar and rooftop Garden Club with outdoor swimming pool. Dekton finishes can be found in virtually every room, “because of its groundbreaking aesthetics, as well as its versatility and durability. The different thicknesses make it easy to adapt the material to any space, playing with the same colour palette. The durability and ease of cleaning, thanks to its almost zero porosity, were paramount for applications in high-traffic areas,” the studio asserts.

For this reason, Dekton Laos was used for all of the cladding in the bathroom areas. The vertical walls were clad in 4 mm, while the floor and shower tray were clad in 8 mm. The washbasins, in the same colour, are of the Reflection model, with towel rails on the skirt.

Meanwhile, Dekton Sasea in 12 mm thickness is used on the terrace, providing an ideal access flooring solution to conceal the many installations typical of a building dedicated to this purpose. The same material is used to clad the swimming pool, ensuring continuity in the space, where Dekton gives off a warm light.

In the Balbuena y Huertas restaurant, Dekton Laurent is featured on the main bar and the round coffee tables, offering a bold colour that contrasts with the original hydraulic flooring. Here, the central round table next to the wine bar is made from Dekton Awake in a high gloss finish to enhance the lighting and create an elegant and refined atmosphere.

The new Hilton Garden Inn attracts visitors to Wiener Neustadt (Vienna New Town)

The Hilton Garden Inn is the first of these internationally renowned hotel chains to arrive in Lower Austria. With its central, yet idyllic position, the 4-star hotel is located in the park close to the city walls which date back to the time Wiener Neustadt was founded in the 12th century. The stone look of the “Kasematten” (former city fortification casements) are reflected in its interior design with Silestone low-silica mineral surface from Cosentino.

The new Hilton Garden Inn was completed in early 2019 in time for the opening of the Kasematten at the “World in Motion” state exhibition that was held the same year. In addition to the five-storey accommodation wing with 133 guest rooms, some of which are handicapped accessible, the hotel includes a fitness room, a bar and restaurant that are open to the public and a conference area with seminar rooms. The rooms facing south have a view of the park and those facing north have a view of the Aldstadt (Old Town) with the Capuchin Church and the cathedral.

Extremely elegant in both look and feel

“The architecture of the building is modern and open and, with its Garden Lounge and extensive use of glass, brings the adjacent city park and historic city walls into the atmospheric mix”, explains Peter Salem from Kaltenbacher Architektur. “The materials and colours of the surroundings are reflected in the interior spaces. Light, stone tones create a harmonious base radiating a calm that is softened by pastel accents. We used Silestone from Cosentino to achieve consistently sleek furniture surfaces in the silky matt grey shades of Kensho Suede that both look and feel extremely elegant.”

At the Hilton Garden Inn, Silestone was used as the durable and easy-care surface in the lobby, at the bar and for the tables in the reception area. Even the buffet and washstands in the bathrooms were designed using Silestone.

Ideal for large, seamless surfaces

“Silestone is extremely versatile if you know how to expertly work this hard material”, says Werner Brottrager, from Kamper Handwerk+Bau, who was responsible for the interior work in all the public areas on the ground floor. “The Silestone panel can be finished using various edge types or bevel patterns to create complex profiles. It can also be precisely machined or drilled to form cutouts. However, Silestone is ideally suited for creating large seamless surfaces, like the beautiful 6-metre reception desk that greets guests at the Hilton in the Steinfeld”.

The new headquarters of Amphora, a marketing consultancy specialising in architecture and design based in the heart of Dubai, redefines the concept of workspace, transforming a mere 80 square metres into a well-balanced mix of luxury and functionality.

The project is the result of the innovative vision of the company’s founder, Miriam Llano, and the meticulous execution of Portuguese designer Frederico Cruz, Design Director at one of the world’s leading luxury hospitality developers and operators. Together, they have conceived a space that is very different from the typical corporate configuration, aiming for an atmosphere that encourages collaboration, inspiration and creativity.

The Amphora office deliberately moves away from corporate conventionalism, embracing the idea of an open space with glass partitions, warm and earthy tones, and a harmonious interplay of lines, textures and materials. Everything here is designed to be dynamic and flexible, and to adapt easily to the many different daily activities that take place in this modern office.

The different textures of Dekton enhance the style of this workspace

Instead of the usual workstations, a long table in Dekton Arga was chosen to serve both as a common place for daily work and as a cosy meeting point for gastronomic experiences.

Meanwhile, the founder’s office stands out for the magnificent desk clad in Dekton Khalo, whose solid yet delicate design symbolises feminine power. Despite its large dimensions, it is comfortable and practical, with sockets and hooks for cables and bags. This gives the desk a clean aesthetic that is complemented by a Vibia lamp for a touch of drama.

In the rest area, the sofa establishes a pleasant dialogue with the elegant coffee table and the pedestal clad in Dekton Neural to create a cosy space for informal meetings. Last but not least, the Dekton Trance worktop and wall cladding in the office area and the Dekton Ceppo pedestals in the entrance, which hold lamps by La Nena – a Spanish home decor brand –, make a statement of sophistication and warmth.

“The Dekton colours, inspired by natural stone, complement the colour scheme and add a timeless elegance to the space. The large format of the slabs gives the bespoke furniture an elegant look, and their stain-proof quality is an added benefit in terms of maintenance. In addition to their aesthetics, Dekton Arga and Dekton Khalo were chosen for their glossy finishes, which reflect light and create depth, contributing to that coveted feeling of spaciousness,” says Llano.

In her most recent project, her own home, Carolina Rusinek, owner of KENISUR, chose Cosentino's materials for both the bathroom and kitchen.

When designing a space, Carolina thinks extensively about its multifunctionality: "Our way of life and habits change in a new phase of life and that affects how we deal with our home and spaces. With a more flexible home, you and your home can grow old together." In addition, an interior must have a timeless basis. Accessories, furniture, and walls that are more easily replaceable can be executed in trend colors.

Creating a timeless, serene space where she and her family can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life is the atmosphere that the bathroom should bring. A pleasant space where they start and end the day. To create a calm basis, she chose the combination of Dekton Grigio and Dekton Nacre for the floor and walls.

The inspiration for the bathroom comes in part from the walnut wood that was already present in other rooms of the house.

The washbasin top and the back wall of the furniture are also made of Dekton Grigio. With its warm nuances and gray undertones, Dekton Grigio fits perfectly with the walnut wood that has also been used for the generous bathroom furniture. This furniture has plenty of storage space, giving the bathroom a lot of peace. The use of Dekton Nacre offers a nice contrast with the other colors and materials in the bathroom.

In addition to the toilet installed in the bathroom, there is also a separate toilet room in which Cosentino materials have been used. Here, Dekton Marmorio was chosen for the floor and back wall, and Dekton Nacre for the side walls. Nacre has a stucco structure with a unique appearance. A beautiful combination that gives a lot of depth to the space. Together with the beige-colored sanitary ware and the playful niche with mosaic, this results in a beautiful toilet room.

"Not only the design and color were important in making the choice. I chose Cosentino materials because they are also sustainable and easy to install (thickness versus size). Moreover, I wanted the same material for both the washbasin and the floor and walls. I could easily realize this with Dekton. In the past, I have often used Cosentino in various kitchen projects, but this was the first time I applied the materials in a bathroom. The result is completely to my liking."

In addition to the application in the bathroom, the kitchen is also equipped with a Dekton worktop, Dekton Arga from the Stonika Xgloss collection. Just like in the bathroom, this color also combines beautifully with the walnut wood.

From 11th April to 26th May, Juka Interiorismo will occupy one of the 55 stands at Casa Decor 2024, the Madrid fair dedicated to the best in design, in an edition that pays tribute to the southern influence of the Palacio de la Trinidad. “The Andalusian influence was a source of inspiration, which is reflected in the design of its elements,” says Javier Tomás, head of Juka Interiorismo.

Once again, Casa Decor will be held in a unique location. This time the venue will be the Palacio de la Trinidad, a building that has been closed to the public for years and is a ‘secret’ even to the citizens. Located in the Salamanca neighbourhood, this 3,600 square metre building stands out for its gardens and its particular architecture, which is clearly influenced by Sevillian tradition.

The history of this country style building dates back to 1928, when María de los Ángeles Gutiérrez Suárez ordered it built. The woman, who came from a high bourgeois family, had Andalusian ancestors, which greatly influenced the design of the architect Luis Alemany.

Seville’s inspiration

Called ‘Entre dos aguas’ (Between two waters), after the popular song by flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía, Juka’s project recreates a living room designed to “listen to music, turn on creativity and stimulate imagination,” as well as the corridor leading to it.

The whole project aims to show the character of the raw materials, highlighting “the elegance of wood and the natural strength of marble.” Touches of copper and straight and semicircular shapes round off a design conceived to create harmony and well-being.

Stones with character and ease of use

To bring his design to life, Tomás teamed up with Sensa and Dekton. In the case of Sensa, the colour chosen was Nahoa, a unique Brazilian quartzite with a brown background crossed by black and beige veins, which offers exceptional performance thanks to its exclusive anti-stain protection.

The professional has used it in a very original way to create details that enhance the décor. This is the case, for example, with the doorway and window frames and the top of the side table. “It was love at first sight: it is a stone with a very special and attractive design,” says Tomás.

Meanwhile, Dekton Nacre, a cream colour that ranges from fine microcement to lime plastering, with subtle details and a degraded texture that give it a high sensory value, was used for the attractive cut-out in the corridor floor. In addition, the very trendy grooved texture of Dekton Ukiyo Nacre, was used for the skirting board in the living room to enhance the effect, and Dekton Umber puts its terracota touch in a charming little table.

The professional was captivated by Dekton’s “unique design”, which is very versatile for all surfaces. Tomás also highlights its ease of installation, as well as its ease of maintenance and avant-garde character, since Dekton does not scratch or stain and is resistant to impacts, ice and even fire.

“Working with Cosentino is a very satisfying experience thanks to the high quality and wide range of products, as well as the support that the company offers us as a customer. It is an enriching experience to work with these materials in continuous innovation,” the interior designer says finally.

Casa Osho is not like other houses; and it does not pretend to be. Although this modern residential retreat is in Mexico, it draws its inspiration from the atmosphere of the island of Bali. Here, Buddhist practice is combined with the connection between man and nature, while at the same time harmoniously integrating Cosentino materials, especially those made from natural and sustainable stones.

The project is located in Morelos, Mexico, and is the work of a collaboration between the architectural studio M+M and interior designer Jess Fernández. “The central element, both visually and energetically, is the rose quartz surface of Prexury Rose Quartz, which was used to evoke the abstract image of a Buddha in this two-storey dwelling”, says the interior designer.

According to Fernández, they chose the Spanish company because of its natural textures, which perfectly matched the project’s approach. “In addition to the wonderful look and feel of Cosentino materials, their performance was also a key factor”, she further says. Both the colours and the excellent properties in terms of resistance, versatility and maintenance of the Prexury line were decisive.

Contemporary architecture with Dekton and Silestone for each of its rooms

Cosentino stones were widely used throughout the project. Their strong, almost ubiquitous presence creates straight lines that result in generous volumes and proportions in a space designed for enjoyment. But the choice for each space served its own purpose.

The project has a surface area of 757 square metres, where Dekton was the dominant choice for both interior and exterior applications, thanks to its versatility in terms of durability and its carbon neutral status. In addition, according to the interior designer, “for the kitchen worktops, both indoors and outdoors, we chose it because it withstands direct heat, while in the bathrooms it offers high scratch resistance”.

Exotic pieces fill the interior of this house that blends indoors and outdoors almost religiously through large windows that take advantage of an exceptional orientation to offer a play of textures between the light of dawn and dusk with the textures of the materials used throughout the house. Here, everything is energy. Energy at its best.
