Monochrome
Cj Hendry
Brooklyn, New York
What if, instead of buying art to decorate spaces, we design spaces to highlight works of art?

The Australian artist Cj Hendry, New York-based for half a decade now, has stirred a chromatic and sensory revolution around her latest series of hyperreealistic drawings. Open to the public in Brooklyn, is Monochrome, an installation reproducing a very special seven-room home. Each room is painted a monochromatic color brought to an extreme, so much that the only intruder in the composition is the visitor. “Color is exciting and sad and frustrating and confusing. Color is all around us, it’s everywhere. Color is not a physical thing, it’s a thing that describes something else."
